Study of Radiation Characteristics of Prolate or Oblate Spheroidal Antennas Using Shape Perturbation Method (1109)

In this work we present a closed-form solution for the electromagnetic radiation of a prolate or oblate spheroidal antenna. The problem is solved using a shape perturbation technique, allowing a closed-form solution which is valid for small eccentricities of the spheroid. We validate our approach by comparing with the full wave solution and present numerical results for radiation patterns and power.
