We present the modelling of microstrip ring resonator (MRR) for 5.8 GHz using two sub-wavelength (λ/4) MRRs & two (λ/8) arms to form a half ring of λ/2. The design is excited by an end-coupled transmission line by centre coupled the two half rings. The structure is modelled numerically using 2D equivalent circuit modeler. The effects of the various gap capacitances on the reflection coefficients, insertion loss, resonant frequency & bandwidth are investigated.ated.
