Most of the existing life detector systems exhibit major drawbacks .In this paper we propose a system that detects a victim in rubble through sound that could be emitted by the victim. In addition our system enables also accurate localization of the victim in the field. For this purpose we use the acoustic sensors already existing in most smartphones. The records processing being done in a laptop connected to all the devices via an ad hoc network.
