Full-duplex radio can provide higher spectrum efficiency but also higher data rates if the self-interference at a terminal can be reduced and the multiuser interference in a large-scale scenario is restricted. In this paper, we consider full-duplex terminals with directional antennas and present analytical and simulated results. The derived results show the significant performance gains that can be achieved by the employment of directional antennas in both small and large-scale environments.
