Acceleration of the multilevel physical optics algorithm (MLPO) using the SIMT computing scheme, as implemented on a CUDA-architecture based GPU accelerator is presented. In addition, we shall present a model predicting the effect of hardware parameters such as the amount of memory of various types, number of available computing cores, memory bandwidth etc. on the acceleration metrics of the proposed implementation.
