This paper discusses the slot optimization for multiband microstrip patch antennas (MMPAs) using artificial neural networks (ANN). The slot parameters for MMPA are determined, and then proposed antennas are modeled to achieve optimum antenna performance in terms of multiband radiation and return loss. The designed antennas are simulated and simulation results are compared with the results obtained from the modeling algorithm. ANN modeling provides 98% model accuracy for slotted MMPAs.
