NANOPARTICLES USAGE FOR NANOSCOPY, BIOMEDICAL SENSING AND TREATMENT

This talk will focus on usage of nanoparticles (NPs) for wide range of practical applications originated from the world of imaging and medicine. We will show how NPs can be used in order to realize novel schemes of non-fluorescent nanoscopy where imaging resolution of only few nm is obtainable. Then we will speak about usage of NPs in the world of medicine starting in showing how usage of NPs in special process can assist in detecting DNA mutations. Then, how ballistic hot NPs combined with magnetic fields can improve the efficiency of a medical process called photo-thermal therapy. We will finish by presenting the usage of NPs in obtaining in-vivo molecular imaging of internal organs.
