Acousto-Optical Interferometry Using Ultrasound Pulses for Biological Tissue Imaging with Increased SNR

We present a new way to quantify SNR for detection of ultrasound-modulated optical imaging. We propose an interferometric system in combination with ultrasound modulation pulses to perform speckle decorrelation with optimum shot-noise sensitivity. The system separates the image from the shot-noise and can be used to preform imaging inside a scattering tissue.
