Background: Low molecular weight heparin(LMWH) is thought to improve the hypercoagulable state in patients with recurrent spontaneous abortion(RSA) by regulating the activity of antithrombin III(ATIII).However,we do not know if this effect is related to the dosage and using time of LMWH so it cannot make sure when we need to give the AT III test. Objective:To investigate the effect of LMWH on the activity of AT III in patients with RSA mainly caused by APS.

Method: The 82 patients in the first trimester who is met the standard above and admitted in Shengjing Hospital between January 2015 and June 2016 is included in the study.According to the daily dosage of LMWH(heparin sodium),the 82 pregnancies are divided into two groups, group A(two pieces per day) and group B(three pieces per day),and finally the decrease of ATIII activity after giving the treatment for two weeks is recorded and compared, respectively. Results:There is significant difference in the decrease of ATIII activity in group A and group B after treating by LMWH for two weeks.

Conclusion: The activity of ATIII decreases along with the increase of daily dosage of LMWH among the patients with RSA mainly caused by APS.
