A Second–Third-Century Synagogue at Shikhin

The remains of a public building were uncovered during the excavations at Shikhin, a Jewish village north of Sepphoris. According to the coins and pottery found at the site, this building can be dated to the second to third centuries CE. If this is the case, this is the earliest synagoge of the "monumental" or " Mountainous Galilean" type which was discovered,
