The Economics of Religion is a growing field of research with many insights into the choices people make about their personal religious lifestyles. Previous work on Jews has focused on the American and Israeli context as it evolved during the 20th century. This paper looks at Jewish religious experience in the first decades of the 21st century and considers the implications of economic context for the future of American Jewry and Judaism in the United States.
