“Playing with Notes” is a unique and innovative musical instrument, which allows you to physically interact with the world of music, combining the world of electronic music production and the experience of playing acoustic instruments in a classical way (much like piano, saxophone and violin).
Our vision is to provide a way for all people (musicians or not) to play music in a user friendly, innovative way, much like playing a board game.
The user plays with tangible objects, which represent bars, musical-instruments, scales and notes, while the computer interprets his game to produce music accordingly.
“Playing with Notes” was developed during a course of “Tangible Interfaces”, which focus on interactions between the physical, tangible world (people, objects) and the virtual world (computers).
This is a joint project of 3rd year students at Shenkar: Ofek Wasserman from the Department of Industrial Design, and Michael Lachower from the Department of Software Engineering.
