Foreign body aspiration is relatively common in children. The common presenting symptoms are cough, choking and wheezing. The main complications are atelectasis and persistent pneumonia with the possible sequela of focal bronchiectasis in neglected cases. We report a case of a sharp foreign body aspiration which led to a perforation of the descending aorta and a formation of an associated pseudoaneurysm. This very rare, yet life-threatening complication of an inhaled foreign body, should be taken into account mainly when foreign body aspiration is associated with significant evidence of bleeding.
