On Writing and Rewriting in Light of the Dead Sea Scrolls

The motif of "70 years", originally found in Jeremiah 25 and 29 regarding the length of the Exile, was further interpreted and developed in Jewish Literature of the Second Temple period. This lecture will trace these developments, and describe the exegetical and chronlogical roles that this motif plays in these later compositions.
