The present study will compare the detailed description of design of the temple and the sacred space found in the book of Ezekiel to Neo-Babylonian temples. Considered here are the measurements of the walls, gates, courtyards, and temple kitchens (40:5-46:24), as compared to the layout of Neo-Babylonian temples, focusing on: courtyards, alleyways, workshops, storerooms, open spaces, and administrative and living quarters. These findings shed new light on Ezekiel’s large complex, which has no biblical parallels.
