Born to Be Wild: The Angel`s Prophecy to Hagar as Understood by Jews and Christians

The lecture will study attempts by Jews and Christians to make sense of the prophecy to Hagar regarding her future son Ishmael, especially after the rise of Islam, and the later interaction between biblical exegesis and travel narratives.
