Is it in the Bible to be so called Canaanism? According to Wikipedia, `Canaanism` denotes "a cultural and ideological movement founded in 1939 that reached its peak in the 1940s among the Jews of Palestine". However, the usage of the bible about two words `כנען` and `כנעני` shows that it existed as the other aspect long before. Then, what is the reason why it can call the usage of the Bible about כנען or כנעני as `Canaanism` so called? That is the whether any correlation exist with these terms and the the theme of `the Promised Land` in the Bible. The use of the terms כנען or כנעני as `the Promised Land` is concentrated in the Pentateuch and the Former Prophets. On the other hand, כנען or כנעני is not any more the soil of `the Promised Land` and irrelevant term in the other parts of the Bible, and therefore, the usage frequency is insignificant. Especially, in the Book of Jeremiah, it is amazing that these words are not appear never once. Then, why did they relate to the theme of `the Promised Land` in the Pentateuch and the Former Prophets? Was it theological or realistic? And, was it intentional that they have no connection with the theme of `the Promised Land` in the other parts of the Bible? Or was the reflection of the simple reality? This argument will demonstrate the reason for being of Canaanism in the Bible.
