Newspaper, Film Theater: The Contribution of Written and Visual Texts to Secularization of Polish Jewry

In my presentation I will try to understand how from the late 19th century and later on, popular media art and entertainment as Yiddish press theater plays and late on cinema influenced on the drifting of secular ideas into the Jewish society in central urbane center as well as in small towns. Press, theater and cinema challenged the boundaries of Jewish traditional society . In my presentation I will argue that the contribution of popular written and visual texts to the drifting of secular Jewish thinking was significant.
