Daily Life in A Mediterranean Society

The lecture concerns the material culture discussed in S.D Goitein`s fourth volume of his book series "A Mediterranean Society". It will discuss Goitein`s special methodology in writing this volume as well as his personal concern with material life. It will also deal with the classical field known as "Sachkultur" and how it has developed into the new historical discipline of "material culture".
