The Ten Commandments in the Paintings of Rembrandt

In two of his paintings, the renowned artist Rembrandt painted the Two Tablets of the Covenant and included upon them the Ten Commandments in Hebrew letters. Of these commandments the last five can be read clearly. We will discuss the division of the Ten Commandments, their layout on the Tablets, the division of the Sections (Parashot), and the Jewish sources upon which these representations are based.
