coating/functionalizing hydrophobic Inorganic Nanotubes WS2, (INT-WS2) with CAN-γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles by using Ce3/4+ cations that both attach (i) INTs sulfur atoms by coordinative bonds/chemistry at different mixing times and (ii) weight ratios of iron (CAN-maghemite NPs) :INT-WS2,An analysis of the currently obtained R&D results showed that in a 1:10 w/w ratio, longer mixing/phase contact times produced thicker coatings, but with hardly any aggregation (observed minimal nanocomposites aggregation). We also obtained novel magnetic INTs-based nanomaterials.

2nd step and using this coordinative chemistry capability arising form attached CAN-maghmeite NPs, we also attempted to coordinatively attach a specific polyethylenimine (25 kDa PEI) polymer to further coat/decorate/functionalize such intermediate magnetically responsive WS2 INTs.
