MULTILAYER CERAMIC COMPONENTS

The Multi Layer (ML) components serve as parts in various technological applications like low voltage piezo-electric components, high voltage capacitors and transformers, low temperature and high temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC ,HTCC) circuits. PZT materials are used mainly in actuators and charge generators, using the reverse and direct piezoelectric effect, respectively. ML PZT components take advantage of the internal thin layers to increase the electric field, and by that allow the operation of actuators at lower voltages and increase dramatically the charge generation by force application.

The work presented herein will present the fabrication processes. Specifically, the work will focus on the influence of key processing parameters on the microstructure and other component characteristics.
