"עיצוב רובוטים לאוכלוסיה המבוגרת – אתגרים ויתרונות"

בתקופה בה רובוטים עבור מבוגרים הופכים להיות נקודת עניין בתחום ה- HRI, עיצוב רובוטים אלו דורש תובנות ועקרונות מוכוונות לאוכלוסיית המבוגרים. אנו מציגים מחקר איכותני שמציג הבנה עמוקה של נקודת המבט והתגובות הרגשיות של מבוגרים בעלי קוגניציה תקינה כלפי מגוון רובוטים ביתיים. שתי תמות עלו מתוך הניתוח האיכותני שהתבצע על ראיונות בהם צפו המבוגרים בקטעי וידאו. תמה ראשונה, About the Robot, מספקת תובנות שימושיות עבור עיצוב התנהגות הרובוט. תמה שנייה, About Me, מספקת תובנות לגבי חששותיהם של המבוגרים. החששות הבולטים ביותר היו: אל תחליפו אותי, עצמאות, שליטה ואל תעמידו פנים.אנו מציעים שלושה עקרונות עיצוב: (1)" אל תחליפו אותי, אבל תהיה שימושי; (2) " אל תעמיד פנים שאתה חבר, אבל תהיה בן זוג לפעילויות פנאי"; (3) "תהיה שימושי, אך תעשה זאת יחד איתי". בנוסף, אנו מציעים תובנות מעשיות עבור מעצבי אינטראקציית אדם רובוט.

With robotic devices for older adults becoming a focus point for HRI, the design of such devices require insights and guidelines targeting this specific population. We present a qualitative study that set out to gain a deeper understanding of cognitively-intact older adults` viewpoints and emotional reactions toward a range of home robots. The qualitative analysis of video-based interviews revealed two themes. Theme I, About the Robot, provides actionable insights toward designing the robot`s behavior, look, and function. Theme II, About Me, provides insights regarding the older adults` concerns, most notably: Don`t Replace Me, Independence, Control, and Don`t Pretend. We suggest three design guidelines: (1) "Don`t replace me, but be useful"; (2) "Don`t pretend to be my friend, but be a partner for leisure activities"; and (3) "Be useful, but do it together with me." In addition, we provide actionable insights for HRI designers.
