Rewiring of transcription factor binding in differentiating human embryonic stem cells is constrained by DNA sequence repeat symmetry

We have analysed design principles of transcription factor (TF) recognition by DNA in differentiating human embryonic stem cells for tens of TFs. We have revealed that contrary to the currently established paradigm, DNA sequence symmetry plays a central role in TF-DNA binding preferences across different developmental layers.
