Ultrafast Fiber Lasers with Graphene Saturable Absorber

Sara Meir Faculty of Engineering and the Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials, Bar Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel

We will present our results on fabricating graphene sheets and how we place them on a tip of a fiber. These graphene sheets are then placed inside a fiber laser cavity to obtain ultrafast fiber laser. We will also describe the fiber laser cavity and will show our experimental measurement of ultrashort pulses and high peak power. Our research can lead to improved fiber lasers which are cheaper and have shorter pulses with higher peak power than current lasers.
