This research focuses on light-vapor interactions in the mid-infrared spectrum of the light, combining the advantages of alkali vapor with the effort of developing on-chip mid-infrared integrated circuits for a vast range of applications. Ultimately, we attempt to develop an on-chip integrated optically pumped gas laser. This laser is expected to pave the way towards the development of a new technology for high precision auto-calibrated on-chip spectrometers in the liquids and gases spectral fingerprint region.
