Upper Arch Rehabilitation of Early Childhood Caries in a Child

Background: A 5.5 years male child reported to our Department with the chief complaint of pain in upper front teeth. The child had multiple upper carious teeth/root stumps.

Methods: Upper arch rehabilitation was performed with restorations, post and core, extractions and functional space maintainer.

Results:
Satisfactory aesthetics and function were restored with the aforementioned treatment procedures.

Conclusions: Early childhood caries is a significant health problem in young children. Prevention and early intervention is crucial to avoid the significant health hazards in children caused due to the disease.
