From Nitrosourea to Tumor-Treating Fields – A Historical Review of Glioblastoma Treatment

Glioblastoma is the most common and aggressive primary brain tumor in adults with a relatively poor prognosis. Over the past a lot of effort was spent on increasing patients overall survival. This presentation will give a historical overview on Glioblastoma treatment (GBM) starting with one of the first chemotherapeutic approaches with nitrosoureas and ending-up with Tumor-Treating Fields, the most recent breakthrough in GBM treatment.
