LID for Public Schools in the PerĂº Mountain Range

The big problem that affects the public schools in the southern highlands of Peru, is the lack of cleanliness of sanitary services, lack of green areas, being necessary to propose an adequate solution that allows to reuse the rainwater through a low solution. impact and thus in this way reduce the health problems that can cause the lack of cleanliness of hygienic services, as well as create more green areas for the recreation of the students. Low-impact development has multiple benefits, such as improved management of runoff and floods, and the reduction of impervious surfaces.
A comparison of the solution of the Saint Venant equations will be made, using the numerical models: non-linear reservoir and kinematic wave, to finally determine the flow rates of the surface flow planes properly, as well as their adequate transit in rainwater evacuation channels, taking into account the generation of the design hietograms from the rain record in stations near the study area.
The practical application will be made in the cities of Ayacucho and Huancavelica, choosing for it, schools that have more than 400 students and for the development of the proposal of low impact in the schools of the south of Peru, the source code of the SWMM will be used, corresponding to the numerical models necessary for rainfall runoff transformation, the same one that will be used to create a new computer tool that allows its more general use in different projects in Peru.
The low impact development approach will include the incorporation of permeable pavements, bioretention systems and green roof, in such a way that flows are obtained, through an adequate rainfall runoff transformation, whose storage will allow its proper distribution later and guarantee this way the health of the students.
