This paper uses the methods of theoretical discussion to establish a quantitative relationship between the friction reciprocal A of the river channel and the hydraulic parametric variable Ψ through the data of the Yellow River downstream and the model test point. Therefore, it can be applied to the comprehensive roughness calculation of grain resistance and bedform resistance of the main channel. This is coupled with the continuous equation of water flow and the formula of the suspended load sediment carrying capacity, and the balanced river phase adjustment criteria is introduced as a ‘target’, thus a curve pattern that can describe the sediment transport capacity varying with the width of the main channel is given, the inner mechanism between the sediment transport capacity of sandy river bed that is dominated by the suspended load sediment movement and causes the deformation of the river bed and the water sand factor is revealed, and the quantitative relationship between the morphological parameters of the optimum sediment transport section and the sediment transport capacity is obtained.
