Abstract: Landscape color is an important characteristic of natural water body, which represents the water quality from a different view. In the past, there was a lack of landscape colorimetric research, and some researchers have established quantitative evaluation method for landscape color of water with suspended sediment. Since the sediment is a kind of insoluble substance, its diffusion in water and the reflection mechanism of light are quite different from those of solution matter. The quantitative evaluation method for sediment water is not applicable to the solutions. To explore the landscape color evaluation method for the solutions, we choose a representative dissolved chemical copper ion which is ubiquitous in nature used a hyperspectral camera to photograph water bodies with different concentrations of copper ions. We obtained a completely different spectral curve from the sediment suspension. We used the Commission Internationale de L’Eclairage spectrum three stimulus system(CIE-XYZ) calculation method to investigate the water reflectance relationship with, water depth and copper ion concentration. A spectral calculation model of water landscape color was established based on the reflectivity of copper ions, and the relationship with water depth and copper ion concentration. It shows that the main spectral bands of copper ion water are different significantly with that of suspended sediment water. For the spectral band of the sediment suspension, the red band having the greatest influence on the color, while it is the blue band for the copper ion solution. Finally, we verified the reliability of the water landscape spectral calculation model based on copper ion concentration by experiments. In this study, we found that the color calculated by the water landscape color spectrum model established by copper ions is basically consistent with the actual color. Through the study of the color of the water landscape under the influence of copper ions, we have a certain understanding of the influence of dissolved substances on the landscape color in water. In order to improve the study of the color influence factors of the whole water landscape, it provides a scientific basis.
