A rapid and sensitive multi-residue method for the determination of 21 organic contaminants belonging to different classes in fish tissue was developed and validated. The method involved a simple extraction step with acetonitrile followed by a cleanup step based on QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged and Safe) approach. Analysis was performed in a single run by liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization and tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS). The accuracy values for all of the analytes were between 80 and 117%; relative standard deviation values were in the range of 1-18 %. Limits of quantitation of the target compounds varied from 0.02 to 5ng/gr.
