Every reservoir built on a river experiences sedimentation by deposition of sediments entrapped in the flow. Reservoir sedimentation rate can be controlled if critical zones in a watershed are identified and checked for its sediment production. In the present work an attempt is made to identify the contribution of the ungauged, reservoir rim catchment (RRC). The assessment is done by means of Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) for Ukai reservoir. The model is calibrated to the contribution of water from the ungauged RRC and based on it sediment contribution is simulated. Thus, the impact of RRC in comparison to the reservoir upstream catchment is identified. The outcome of the study will show the influence of RRC to the reservoir capacity loss.
