Due to the population growth, industrial development, the expansion of agriculture, the climate changes and the increase of the quality of life, put a strong pressure on water resources. We did a study focused on presenting evidences of practices of the non-sustainable use of drinking water and potentially drinking water. We conducted an evaluation of the presence of Coliform bacteria in the brook La Ermita, in Las Tablas, province of Los Santos in our analysis since the presence of these bacteria is a strong indicator of recent pollutions by means of fecal water and materials in potentially drinking water. We also identify the contamination by organic and inorganic wastes because of the bad practices of the use of potable water. We studied the water consumption of humans during the year. Drinking water consumption of humans during all moths of rainy, as well as the frequency of diseases transmitted by contaminated water was analyzed in the investigation period. The pollution of drinking and potentially drinking waters can cause gastrointestinal diseases, in humans; spoilage to endemic biota, the visual contamination and bad odors, causing danger inconveniences in the population. We have shown the pollution of potentially drinking water and increased consumption of drinking water associated with human activities at various times of the year, with this research. As well as the increase of diseases transmitted by water in the rainy months of the year. We look forward this project serve to implement governmental polices aimed at solving water problems in our country.
