A novel synthesis of seeded nanorods with a radially graded composition was presented. These seeded nanorods show
bright and highly polarized green emission. Using Finite Element simulation and multiband k·p theory, we analyze the potential influence of several factors
affecting excitonic emission and show that the strain induced by the ZnS in the shell is rearranging the fine structure levels at the band edge and that is the
mechanism promoting linear polarization. For more details:Nano Lett. 2017, 17, 2524−2531.
