[P=O]• type radicals have the potential to be used in a variety of applications, such as dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP), sensors, molecular switches, catalysts for different reactions, and more. Noteworthy, radicals of this type were previously proposed as intermediates in the activation of C-H bonds. Despite the great potential and importance of this type of radicals, only few species of this type were synthesized and characterized, and even fewer number of such compounds have been isolated. In our research we are focusing on carbene/carborane stabilized [P=O]• type radicals synthesis and its electronical properties.
