UNDERSTANDING AGILE

In the Lean and Agile world, the project manager does not have an official role, neither no the functional managers and executives (Directors, VP’s, C-level).

However, there is no doubt that these roles have effect on the way the project is handled, and that they are being affected from it in various of ways.

In standard Waterfall projects there are clear definition of the PM roles and responsibilities (e.g PMBOK), the functional managers and the executives are part of the project processes and also part of the decisions making.

However, Agile do not define such a process, actually it encourages to neglect the “Manager” and to be “Self-organized”, by empowered the development teams to make decisions: “The best architectures, requirements, and designs emerge from self-organizing teams.” (The Agile Manifesto).

To be able to have good implementation of Agile in the organization, managers and executives need to be part of the Agile/Lean transformation, they must be part of the process and to understand the way it handles.

The workshop target audience are Project Managers, Functional Managers, Executives and non-developers personals whom would like to understand the fundamental of Agile and Lean, the change in mindset that need to be done, so they could work better with development teams which are using Agile or Lean as their main development methodology.

The workshop is exploring the principles of Agile and Lean, common terminology being use in the industry, R&R in the Agile world and will also include hands-on experience with Scrum.
