The aim is to get an assessment/a perspective on current developments in out-of-home care from various countries, to develop research questions dialogical and through cooperation and to enhance and activate FICE (-Europe) by planning and doing research together.

In inputs of 10-20 minutes different persons from different countries should give an overview about the situation and developments in their respective countries (or relavnt parts of the field of alternative care they have knowledge of or think them being of high interest), which might be

. related to theoretical concepts or policy frameworks

. positive practical developments in general or for specific groups of children and/or their families or of specific topics (e.g. participation, children rights, new approaches, opening doors, leaving care, ombudsmen...etc)

. negative practical developments in the areas mentioned above or about `ounitive turns`or anything else, which might be seen as `false` developments

and the presenters think of to be studied empirically. All inputs/presentations should end in one or more research questions or subjects to be studied.

After the presentations we are going to discuss two or three subjects, people want to (or have small group discussions), and try to develop concrete questions and further action.

Persons who want to make an anctive contribution (a short input) should contact us soon:
