Many newborns have signs of neurological disorders after birth. This may be due to trauma during the passage of the birth canal.

A baby N., aged 21 days was sent to the clinic for treatment by a pediatrician. From the anamnesis it is known that childbirth began when the cervix uteri was opened on 3 fingers of the obstetrician, the amniotic bubble was opened artificially (in vitro). There was no independent discharge of water; there was a weakening of the maternal labor activity. The obstetrician used manual obstetrics - pressure on the stomach. After birth, the mother noted sporadic ruptures of the cervical mucosa.

After a preliminary consultation of a pediatric neurologist of the highest category, a diagnosis was made: Perinatal hypoxic traumatic damage to the central nervous system (traumatic brain injury), convergent strabismus, cerebral palsy-?

We performed a reposition of the atlantooccipital joint on the left, reposition C1-C2, C6-C7, left-sided subluxation of the jaw joint was set up. Manipulation was performed once with a control examination of the child after 1 month.

At the age of 3 months, the child is examined by a pediatric oculist, a neurologist. Conducted neurosonogram of the brain. Conclusion: no pathology detected.

Findings: The presence of neurological disorders, including neurogenic strabismus in newborns, may be due to the displacement of the anatomical and physiological structures of the cervical spine during childbirth.

Timely care for newborns allows treating the existing pathology and preventing the development of neurological pathology in the future.
