From Survival to Leadership
Village Way Educational Initiatives, Nonprofit Organization
The Village Way is an Israeli educational methodology that is implemented with educators and therapists in dozens of schools, which aims to give each child a sense of belonging, cohesion, meaning, trust in man and society, and foundational values.
The main focus of the process is for the child to shift from the mindset of a survivor to the mindset of a leader.
The training is done through peer learning, in which the Village Way principles are studied with the educational staff.
This shared study allows educators to raise their sights above the demanding day-to-day work, beyond the pressures of time and place, and create a sense of partnership and a vital existential experience.
At the foundation of the Village Way are three basic principles:
- It takes a whole village to raise a child.
- Every child needs a meaningful adult who believes in him or her.
- Every child is a person searching for meaning.
