A Love Metamorphosed – From a Warm Kitchen in Berlin to the Therapeutic Village for Children, Teenagers and Young Adults at Risk
The story of Ahava village take us to a tour in history from Europe between two world wars in Berlin, Germany; to Israel of 2019. Since it days as a warm kitchen for Jews children in Berlin, through it years as a Aliyat hanoaar boarding school, until today as a welfare residential care working in a family care units’ method; Ahava was working from a social educational perception. Today, Ahava has a few programs for children, youth and young at risk.
The poster will present an article that was written on 2018, telling the story of out of home solutions in Israel through the development of Ahava. It will show the main therapy educational issues, challenges and changes Ahava, as many others residential places for children and youth at risk, was coping with during the past 95 years.
