Role Of Community Social Services In Prevention Of Family Child Separation
Social services aim at ensuring a professional intervention in order to facilitate a desired change in a certain vulnerable individual life context.
One of the basic conditions for increasing the efficiency of intervention that aims to prevent the separation of children from their families is the development of social services at the level of local communities. Community social services can provide support for parents especially important in the growth, care and education of children and can address various issues that any member of a family may face at some point.
Actions of entitled authorities should always be supported and facilitated, in a complementary manner, by real empowerment of the community to which the child and family belong. This accountability would reflect into increasing involvement of all professional categories relevant to growth, care and education of children, such as teachers, school counselors, priests, doctors, psychologists, through actions targeted to ensuring an environment of healthy lifestyle conducive to normal child development, both physical and psychosocial.
