Unique Pedagogical Activity in Bakery Program in "Achuzat Yeladim" Boarding School to Advance Capability Feelings among the Students and Handing over Occupational Opportunities in the Future

The boarding school team and "Achuzat Yeladim" school staff put a goal to itself to lead for academic achievements and exhaustion of the students` potential in the emotional, social and academic areas with the appropriate way to meet their special needs. In "Achuzat Yeladim" boarding school, junior and high school from 7th to 12th grades, the students have mental and behavioral disorders. The school offers a variety of educational plans, working and therapeutic to execute the personal potential of every student. One of the leading programs of the school is the bakery program, with majoring in hotel bakery. The studies of this program are for "Bagrut", up to 8 units and/or a professional technology certification. It is a meaningful achievement for the students who finish. They get there thanks to determination, persistence and coping with challenges, with the guidance of a professional skilled team. Bakery program combines theoretical studies in the field of nutrition science, entrepreneur, menus and food technology to professional training through workshops in the field of hotel bakery arts.

The studies at the program encourage education to nutrition which is most valuable and important to health and quality of life. The learning subjects include subjects such as: the connection between the body`s needs to food ingredients groups, matching the food quantity and quality to the changing body`s needs, changing eating habits and more.

At the same time, subjects of technology training majoring in hotel bakery are also been taught. The subjects of learning are adapted to the professional contents as required in the hoteliery industry. The workshops take a central place in the training and create among students a feeling of purposefulness and relevance. Likewise, the workshops encourage integration in the hoteliery industry in the future, both professional and continuing education.
