Director of Village Neradim, SOS Children's Villages

The "Nardim" Children`s Village is a therapeutic boarding school that provides solutions for children and youth who experienced with complex trauma. Complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD; also known as complex trauma disorder) is a psychological disorder that can develop in response to prolonged, repeated experience of interpersonal trauma in a context in which the individual has little or no chance of escape. We in the village give them the opportunity to feel safe enough so that they can fall apart without fear that there will be no one to hold them, but in the same tone we give them the belief that they can dream and reach places they dared not dream about. I would be happy to present the concept of therapeutic therapy in a therapeutic framework, including the provision of leadership tools. The main discussion: How to enable a child with emotional and behavioral difficulties the ability to lead and influence, first of all about himself and later on our environment. At the Roundtable, we will discuss how opening opportunities together with providing appropriate tools can give the child the ability to believe in himself. Within the comprehensive internal treatment we will not be afraid to introduce empowerment and leadership skills among our children. In the discussion we gave examples from our village:

1. Youth Council - A youth leadership group that influences what is happening in the village.

2. Volunteering for Children - Children volunteer in the community and feel how it makes me feel to contribute to after.

3. A coffee shop and a community vegetable garden - The youth run a vegetable garden and set up a community café.

4. Mentoring of adult children The young children.

5. Driver`s licenses for adults - Every 12th receives a driver`s license.

6. And more
