A Model in Residential Care for Treatment of Sexually Abused Children and Youth
Talpiot operates a Therapeutic Residential for children at risk and “Rimonim centers” for treatment of children who are victims of sexual abuse.The cooperation(knowledge ,staff training ) create a unique model for systemic treatment.The uniqueness of this model :In the therapeutic aspect, treating children with the understanding that the sexual abuse they have undergone is only part of the child`s emotional complexity.In terms of the organization, treatment program for the children and supporting and training the staff and parents. Treatment level -Children of residential care are characterized by emotional, social and behavioral problems. The problems arise from initial traumatic events in childhood. Most of the initial vulnerability experienced by the child in the past is a background story to the sexual abuse in which he was referred for treatment. This hurts his trust in the world around him and constitutes the main part of treatment. On the system level, the model offers parental and staff guidance in order to ensure maximum protection in child`s life. Both, the training of the parents and the training of the staff, emphasis the support of the child`s strengths and growth for the hope for the child future.
