Graduating Residential Care Institution, On Their Way to Independent Lives
The professional session will deal with integrating volunteers as mentors for young adults , who graduate from residential care institutions, during the critical period of life known as "the emerging adulthood" .for more than a decade, "fair chance for childrens" operating a program to this young adults and give them a better chance for starting their grown-up lives in a normative way. In this lecture we will discuss the needs and unique challenges they deal with and the benefits of volunteers mentoring in this crucial period of time. We will discuss the issue through two aspects- the concrete-material and the emotional, aspects that must be taken into consideration while running volunteers program in each and every stage (Volunteers recruitment, training, Matching and estimation). The lecture will also relate to challenges and advantages in working with volunteers and making them significant mentors for young adults at risk.
