This image shows a cryo-fractured surface of hormone-secretory cell in the zebrafish pituitary showing the nucleus with nuclear pores, numerous hormone-containing vesicles and plasma membrane. This image was taken with a scanning electron microscope on cryo mode, following high pressure freesing and freeze fracture of the dissected pituitary of adult zebrafish.
