In the present study ionospheric perturbations have been investigated during geomagnetic storms which are disturbed conditions in earth’s magnetic field and leads to a number of disruptions in technological applications. Quantitative analysis has been done in three different storm criterions, strong, weak and moderate ones and their response in the ionosphere has been investigated. Fair enough results have been witnessed in different longitudinal and latitudinal regions over the globe. An attempt has been made to find some qualitative and quantitative relationship between these perturbations with high latitudinal indices. An empirical modeling approach has been adopted to find a causal relationship between the storm and ionospheric perturbations.
