Migration is of all times. In fact, the spread of the human race on this globe is due to the success of migration. At present, however, migration in the West European context is a controversial concept. This does not only apply to migration of adults, but also to alone traveling children and adolescents. The oral presentation outlines the position of single young migrants in the Netherlands, especially for adolescents who come from the so-called "safe countries". The focus of the contribution is on adolescents from North Africa (Maghreb). We start with an outline of the youth care in the Netherlands after the transition that took place in 2015. At that time the responsibility for this policy area was shifted from the provinces to the municipalities. Subsequently, topics such as: historical notes, reception, perspectives, possibilities and impossibilities of youth care like closed institutions are considered. But also theme such as "homesickness" is not avoided.
