NOVEL STRATEGY DESIGNED FOR SAMPLING OF WATER, SOIL AND SEDIMENT FOR THE SEDIMENTATION IMPACT ASSESSMENT USING NUCLEAR TECHNIQUES IN THE IMPORTANT CUBAN DAM.

The results of the projects are shown, both, the national and international Project. It is applied for the first time in the Latin America and Caribbean region, the integrated use of three nuclear techniques, to evaluate the sedimentation impacts in water reservoir superficial (natural and artificial) of water, specifically Hanabanilla dam. The work develops a novel design of strategy to achieve the representativeness in the landscape of the water, soil and sediment collection, Have been defined and documents a sampling Plan to evaluate the sedimentation impact, applying of the integrated way, the following three nuclear techniques (FRN; CSSI and Isotopic Hydrology), as support tool for define the strategies of surveillance and monitored of the hydraulic facilities, with the purpose of completing the expectations of the national programs of handling and conservation of the earth and the hydraulic resources. The results define the sampling equipment for each technique, the indicators to keep in mind, the representative space location of each sample, the number, frequency and sample type to collect (water, soil or sediment), and type of laboratory analysis to carry out. Finally, is implemented the sampling stage for the water (rain, reservoir and underground); for the soil (not perturbed area and erosion) and for sediment (dams, solid can be deposited and deposited sediment).
